MUSIC HALL
Acoustic cast glass
High-precision ultra-pure cast glass with acoustic openings and integrated light
Cast glass is not used here as a decorative layer. It contributes to the spatial, luminous and acoustic character of the hall.
Part of the glass wall behind the musicians contains mathematically calculated acoustic openings. They help release excess sound pressure through the glass surface towards the sound-absorbing material placed behind the glass.
Tiny air microbubbles remain within the cast glass, stochastically distributed through the depth of the material. They create natural depth, soft light diffusion and a living internal structure within the glass.
Materials:
High-precision ultra-pure cast glass
Light-diffusing and sound-absorbing material
Integrated lighting
High-grade crystalline light guides
Technologies:
Laser scanning
3D solid modelling
Glass casting in graphite moulds
